15 July deadline for NZPopCon 2021 student prize submissions

New Zealand fern
All New Zealand tertiary students and immediate past students can now enter essays and research posters to win cash prizes, publication, and free registration and travel to the New Zealand Population Conference.

The Statistics New Zealand Jacoby Prize goes to the best student essay on any population topic. The PANZ Newell Award goes to the best research poster on any population topic. Both come with $500 prizes and all student poster entries accepted will have free conference registration.

There will also be a ‘People’s Choice Award’ of $250 for the favourite conference poster as voted on by conference delegates (which is open to non-students).

Registration is now open for NZPopCon, and we can confirm affordable student and unwaged rates for the conference:
  • $25 for one day (full-time students and unwaged)
  • $40 for both days (full-time students and unwaged)
Entries due by 15 July 2021
