NZPopCon 2025 Call for Papers

The Population Association of New Zealand (PANZ) invites you to New Zealand’s Population Conference (NZPopCon), to be held in Wellington 10-11 July 2025. A biennial conference, NZPopCon is the flagship forum for population research in Aotearoa, bringing together a wide range of population professionals in academia, government, communities and the private sector. Our conference is an opportunity to present research or policy-related work, and to network with a range of professionals in academia, national and regional/local government, consultancy and other institutions.

Researchers and professionals working in population, demography and
neighbouring fields are invited to submit a paper or a poster to be presented at the 2025 PANZ Conference related to the following conference themes:

  • Health, mortality, morbidity and ageing
  • Gender and identity
  • International migration, migrant populations, refugees
  • Data and methods
  • Census 2023
  • Families and households
  • Spatial demography
  • Fertility
  • Diversity
  • Environment and climate change
  • Inequality, inequity and discrimination
  • Internal migration and urbanisation
  • Education and labour force
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Social investment
  • Economic demography
